SVA Test

SVA test in Larnaca, Cyprus

Learn who may need Single Vehicle Approval, what our Larnaca test center checks and what happens after a successful test.

The approval test

What an SVA test means in Larnaca, Cyprus

SVA is a national, individual vehicle inspection for imports that do not enter registration through a standard whole-vehicle approval route. At our Larnaca test center, the relevant safety, environmental and technical requirements are checked before registration.

Vehicle-specific guidance: Origin alone does not always determine the route. Age, specification and conformity documents matter too.

Common cases

Vehicles that may require SVA

Contact the team before relying on a general category; the correct route is confirmed from the individual vehicle paperwork.

Non-EU used imports

M1 passenger vehicles up to five years old imported from third countries, including Japan, are a common SVA category before road registration.

EU imports with differences

A vehicle may need an individual route when its specification, steering configuration or conformity documents do not support standard registration.

Personal and repatriation imports

Personal property imports can follow specific processes. Send the documents and vehicle details so the team can guide you.

After inspection

A pass gives you the certificate for the next step

When the vehicle passes, the inspector prepares, signs and stamps the hard-copy SVA certificate. You then take it, with the other required documents, to the Department of Road Transport to continue registration.

The test centre does not complete registration

SVA approval is one part of the process. Registration remains a separate step with the competent authority.
